Republican competition of consumer preferences "Product of the Year" was established in 1998. Over the years, hundreds of Belarusian and foreign companies took part in the competition, every one of which claimed to be the most popular and favorite product.

- direct communication with the customer through a national consumer survey. General population: the urban population (cities with a population of more than 50 000 people) of the Republic of Belarus, aged from 18 to 64 years;
